Understanding Dairy Markets
This Web site was developed by the Wisconsin Center for Dairy Research and the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics at UW–Madison. It provides current and historical dairy market information, as well as information on dairy price-risk management, the use of dairy futures and options, and dairy policy. It includes price data for raw milk, cheese, dry milk products, butter, and other manufactured dairy products. The developed curricula available on this site are especially useful. Definitions of terms, graphical representations of current dairy trends (prices, production, stocks), and alternative marketing options are also available.

Universe in the Park
Universe in the Park (UitP) is predicated on a very simple idea – that the best environment in which to introduce the general public to astronomy is outside under dark skies! For nearly a decade, UitP presenters have taken the program to state parks throughout Wisconsin during the summer camping season, giving talks and slide shows, answering questions, and letting the general public view astronomical objects through one of the UitP telescopes. While the particular topic is left up to the speaker, programs usually present a broad overview of astronomy or recent astronomical news, such as the discovery of new solar systems and the latest results from the Hubble Space Telescope. At the conclusion of the talk when the sky is dark, speakers set up one of the two moderate aperture (8"-10") telescopes and provide park visitors the opportunity to view whatever astronomical objects are available.

University of Wisconsin Digital Collections Center
The University of Wisconsin Digital Collections Center (UWDCC) works collaboratively with UW System faculty, staff, and librarians to create and provide access to digital resources that support the teaching and research needs of the UW community, uniquely document the University and state of Wisconsin, and provide access to rare or fragile items of broad research value. The UWDCC has also partnered with cultural heritage institutions and public libraries throughout Wisconsin to create digital resources. The free, online collections are loosely organized into subject areas including art, ecology, literature, history, music, natural resources, science, social sciences, the state of Wisconsin, and the University of Wisconsin. Digital resources include text-based materials such as books, journal series, and manuscript collections; photographic images; slides; maps; prints; posters; audio; and video.

University Preschool Laboratory
The UW–Madison Preschool Laboratory is part of the education and research program of the School of Human Ecology. Laboratory staff are committed to using the best teaching practices and research to provide high-quality early learning and childcare programs for young children. The laboratory serves different age groups at two Madison locations. The Linden site, located on the university campus, serves children ages 2–5 years during the school year, with an additional program for children ages 6–8 in the summer. The Mineral Point Road site, located on the near west side of Madison, serves ages 6 weeks–5 years. Both programs are licensed by the State of Wisconsin and are accredited by the city of Madison. Requirements: Open equally to UW-affiliated and non-UW-affiliated families. Enrollment begins in March of each year. Details are available on the Web site.

Upward Bound (UW-La Crosse)
We are a federally funded program for first generation and/or low income college bound high school students who could benefit from academic support and may need increased motivation to realize their potential. UW-La Crosse (Wisconsin) is our host institution. Upward Bound, funded under Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965, is one of the TRIO Programs created by Congress to help students overcome educational, social, cultural, and financial barriers to higher education. Currently, the program serves about 85 students from eight target high schools in La Crosse, Monroe and Jackson counties. Student selection is based on potential, need, and likelihood of benefit from the program. We welcome all eligible students regardless of color, creed, ethnic origin, sexual orientation or disability.

UW Space Place
At the UW Space Place, the stars and planets are within the reach of curious kids, fascinated parents, inquisitive teachers, and anyone else who wants to learn more about the universe around us. Space Place offers space science presentations for the public, family workshops for children, and guest lecturers from leading space research organizations. There are exhibits, activities, and workshops for everyone – from those curious about basic scientific concepts to those interested in advanced principles in astronomy, physics, and engineering.

The University of Wisconsin–Madison Lakeshore Nature Preserve permanently protects the undeveloped lands along the shore of Lake Mendota, where members of the campus community have long experienced the intellectual and aesthetic benefits of interacting with the natural world. The preserve shelters biologically significant plant and animal communities for teaching, research, outreach, and environmentally sensitive use, and safeguards beloved cultural landscapes. UW–Madison offers many special credit programs during Summer Sessions, including several specially tailored to teachers. UW-Oshkosh 2004 Geology Field Camp
A 6-week summer program with an early June start date. The primary goal of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh geology field camp is to teach students vital field skills and mapping techniques in a wide variety of geological environments. For this reason, the UW Oshkosh geology field camp is based in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah, which offer diverse and well-exposed rocks for study. The Wasatch Mountains mark the intersection of a wide array of tectonic elements in North American Cordillera that include the Sevier fold-thrust belt, the Laramide Uinta uplift, the Tertiary Cottonwood intrusive belt, and the Basin and Range rift. Students at the camp gain practical experience and instruction in geologic mapping and field analysis of geologic structures and sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rock assemblages. UW-Whitewater Band Camp
Since 1965, the UW-Whitewater Warhawk Summer Band Camps have offered excellence in summer musical experiences. As always, we are dedicated to providing both middle and high school musicians with the opportunity of a concentrated music experience appropriate for their performance level. We provide this by having grade-specific weeks and by employing many certified music educators. The program is designed to challenge each student at his or her current level.
