Adult Role Models in Science (ARMS) Sponsored by the Center for Biology Education, ARMS is designed to help make science real and meaningful at the elementary level through long-term community partnerships. The program works to bring scientists and aspiring scientists into schools as role models and also to help teachers and parents to be role models in science. Programs include classroom volunteers, after-school science clubs, and Family Science Nights. ARMS also works to connect classroom learning to informal education venues. Seven Madison schools participate in ARMS: Frank Allis, Emerson, Hawthorne, Lake View, Lincoln, Lowell, and Mendota.
